Recycling Your Christmas Cards

Crafts DIY Recycled

I am such a saver...well not money wise, but in regards to getting rid of things that MAYBE I'll use one day. This never used to be an issue until we moved to California and had to downsize. Even donating half of what we own, maybe even more, we are still busting at the seams.

However, cards have a special place in my heart (obviously) and I can't bear to throw them away. I still have cards from people I don't even remember being friends with...but that's a whole different story. I've moved a lot and I'm horrible at staying in touch.

Anyway, after receiving a large stack of cards back from my printer that were damaged, even too damaged to sell as "seconds" in our grab bags, I set them aside. I still couldn't bring myself to throw them away. Now I feel like I'm starting to sound like a hoarder. I promise, I'm not...really!

I wish I could take credit for this idea but I can't. I saw a post online recently where someone turned old fashioned Christmas cards they had saved into gift tags.

So I went to work and started cutting out some of the images on my damaged Christmas cards to make gift tags.

Repurposed Christmas Cards

So receiving damaged cards that are too bad to even sell as "seconds" are always a major bummer... so I was really excited to have found this idea online.

So, do you guys re-purpose your Christmas cards after the season is over? If you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them!

Merry Christmas...Lisa
